Posted December 12, 2019 by UpNext with Bill and Mel The Bill and Kali Show National Weather Service Outlook for Thursday, December 12th for Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis and Michiana National Weather Outlook Milwaukee Areas of light snow and rain will develop later this morning and afternoon. There may be a period of light freezing rain or drizzle before temperatures warm above freezing. Mostly snow is expected farther north where between 1 and 2 inches is possible from Reedsburg and the Wisconsin Dells to Westfield, Montello, Berlin and Fond du Lac. The chance for light drizzle or freezing drizzle will continue tonight. Slippery spots may develop on untreated roads due to the snow and light glazing. Occasional light precipitation is expected Friday night into Saturday night, and possibly again on Monday and Monday night. Light snow is expected to develop over south central Wisconsin later this morning, likely becoming mixed with light rain or drizzle for a time over most of the area. The region from Reedsburg and the WI Dells to Montello, Berlin and Fond du Lac has the chance for receiving 1 to 2 inches of snowfall. The snowfall and possible light glazing on roadways may affect the afternoon commute home. Across southern Wisconsin, about every 2 out of 3 years there is at least 1 inch of snow on the ground on December 25th across much of south central Wisconsin. The chance decreases to 50% or one out of every two years in far southeast Wisconsin. The graphic shows the historic probability of at least 1 inch of snow on the ground at 6 am CST on December 25. This is based on the 30 year normal climate statistics from the National Center for Environmental Prediction. Milwaukee Live Radar Chicago Last updated Friday at 5:44 am Today will be 15 to 20 degrees milder than yesterday, but it will be blustery thanks to southerly winds gusting to 30 to 35 mph. Temperatures on Friday will inch down a tad under clouds and less wind. There is a chance for light mixed precipitation later Friday night into Saturday. Sunday looks dry before a chance for snow on Monday. It’s possible somewhere in the region has an accumulating snow with that system, presently favored more south. Chicago Radar Indianapolis Several chances for rain and snow in the forecast. Minimal accumulations this weekend but could have snow accumulations early next week. Stay tuned! #inwx Indianapolis Radar Michiana Dry weather can be expected from today through Friday afternoon. Windy conditions will develop this morning and continue into early this evening. These south winds will allow for some moderation in temperatures today as afternoon highs range from the mid 30s to low 40s. Clouds will be on the increase late tonight into Friday before chances of light rain and light snow enter the picture for Friday night through Saturday evening. Looking ahead, there is another potential of snow Monday and Monday night as temperatures turn colder for the 2nd half of the weekend into the first part of next week.
